Characters Present[]

Summary[]

Joe invites the viewers inside to learn about morning routines through musical numbers.

Recap[]

Night becomes day in the Blue's Clues House, and then the rooster crows to wake everyone up. Joe invites the viewers to the house. Joe goes to the bedroom as Joe wakes Blue up. Blue goes to the bathroom as Joe sings The Toilet Song. Blue decides to play Blue's Clues so Joe and the viewers can figure out what they want to do outside this morning. Joe flushes the pawprint away. Joe gets his notebook from Sidetable Drawer, who is stretching.

Joe tells the viewers how to Play Blue's Clues. First, they have to find the first pawprint which was the first clue and draw it in the notebook. Next, they have to find the second pawprint which was the second clue and draw it in the notebook. Last, they have to find the third pawprint which was the third clue and draw it in the notebook. After collecting all 3 clues, they go to the thinking chair and put all 3 clues together. Now that the viewers know how to Play Blue's Clues, Joe finds the first clue, a sidewalk, and draws it in his notebook. Sidetable Drawer goes to the bathroom while Joe and Blue then have breakfast while singing The Breakfast Song and brush their teeth while singing the Toothbrush Tango. Later, Tickety Tock goes to the toilet, and Joe finds the second clue, a bicycle, and draws it in his notebook.

Upon returning to the bedroom, Joe gets dressed with help from Tickety and Sidetable as they sing Getting Dressed. After getting dressed, it is Mailtime. Joe runs to the living room to sing the Mailtime song. Once Mailbox appears, he is asleep, but Joe wakes him up. Mailbox then sends Joe a letter, which inside the video letter, some kids are preparing to go to school. After the video letter, Joe says he forgot to put on his shoes. We then meet Shoehorn who sings the Shoe Tying Song to teach Joe how to tie his shoes.

Joe and Blue skidoo into the shoe catalog, where they meet a giant pink shoe, who can’t tie his laces. Joe sings him the song to teach him how to tie them. Once the shoe has his laces tied, Joe skidoos back home and finds the third clue, Magenta's house, and draws it in his notebook. Joe goes to the Thinking Chair and he says that the answer is Blue riding her bike to Magenta's house. Joe and Blue put on their helmets and get on their bicycles as they sing We're Riding Our Bikes to Magenta's House. Joe and Blue meet Magenta at her house and they sing The So Long Song. The episode ends with Joe asking Magenta to tell him if he can use her toilet as Joe says "Magenta, do you think I can use your toilet?".

Trivia[]

  • Giant Shoe, Shoehorn, Tickety Tock, Sidetable Drawer, Polka Dots, Boris, Sock Monkey, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper did not appear at the end of the episode because they were very busy.
  • Joe's pajamas are not seen at the end of the episode because they were left behind in Joe's closet in the bedroom.
  • This is the only Blue's Clues episode to feature the rooster crowing sound effect. It will not be used again in the future episodes.
    • Because of this, a rooster crowing sound effect was only heard once.
  • This episode features one stock sound effect: "Sound Ideas, BIRD, ROOSTER - MORNING CALL, ANIMAL 01".
  • In this episode, a rooster crows before The Viewer is let in by Joe. In Tickety's Big Musical Morning, there is no rooster crowing this time.
  • This episode has four relatives, two of former Murmur Music Production Coordinator Kirsten Brooks and two of Content Content Consultant Laura G. Brown. They are Isabel and MacKenzie Brooks, and Chloe and Danielle Melanie Brown. They are all Joe's Friends in this episode.
  • This episode is the opposite of Bedtime Business, because while the latter is about bedtime routines, this one is about morning routines.
  • This is the second time that Magenta's House was a clue. The first time it happened was from Magenta Gets Glasses.
  • Sidetable Drawer was seen more than once in this episode.
  • This is the second episode where Joe is seen with pajamas on. The first was in Bedtime Business.
    • It's a definite possibility for this episode to air a year later after Bedtime Business. Plus, they were both filmed the same month (April 2002).
  • This is the only episode where a character was shown flushing the toilet, which was Blue (the title character).
  • Randy Travis provides the voice of Shoehorn.
  • This is the first episode where the host and the viewers sing a duet about finding a clue each time they find them.
    • Throughout the episode, Joe and the viewer sang operatically while finding clues.
  • The way Joe wakes Mailbox up is similar to Steve getting Mailbox to deliver the mail in Blue's Surprise at Two O'Clock.
  • The first page is the only page that does not scroll upwards in the credits.
  • This is the only time Magenta's House is a talking clue.
  • Joe had to re-film himself singing the Toilet Song many times because he laughed so hard of how funny a song about toilets was and couldn't stop laughing or control it.
    • On top of that, they redid it in about 33 times. That never happens often on TV.
  • This is the last season 5 episode to feature the regular Blue's Clues theme song.
  • This is the last season 5 episode where the title flag matches the same color as the shirt Joe wears.
  • Joe wears a blue squared shirt in this episode.
    • For the first half of the episode, however, Joe wears his pajamas, and slippers that resemble his stuffed duck, Boris.
  • The Joe voice for We Are Looking for Blue's Clues was re-recorded in the episode, making an opera voice at "Wonder where they are".
  • This episode reveals the lighter color shirts Joe wears under his square-patterned long-sleeve tee are a patternless short-sleeved tee.
    • This is the only episode where we see Joe in just an undershirt.
  • Shoehorn makes his only appearance in the credits and besides Blue, only Tickety Tock appeared where she moved her hands to the music, but Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Shovel, Pail, Slippery Soap & Mailbox aren't being seen in the credits.
  • This is the 2nd time all hosts getting dressed from Blue's Big Musical & Tickety's Big Musical Morning.
  • Joe singing "Wake Up Blue!" was a reference to the Wiggles song “Wake Up Jeff!”, Like in the episodes Blue's Big Musical & Tickety's Big Musical Morning.
  • The Monkey from "Blue Wants to Play a Song Game" appears in this episode.
  • This is the only time Sidetable Drawer uses the toilet.
  • This is Joe's version of "What Does Blue Want to Do on a Rainy Day?".
  • In this episode, the giant shoe sang the song in the skidoo segment the second time, just like Shoehorn who sang it for the first time.
  • This is the second and last Joe episode to feature the actual beginning music of The So Long Song. The first one was Shape Searchers.

Goofs[]

  • Joe and the viewers shouldn't be watching Blue go to the bathroom, as people need privacy when they go to the bathroom. They didn't watch Sidetable Drawer or Tickety Tock use the bathroom, however.
    • This is probably because they wanted to teach kids how to use the bathroom.
  • In this episode, the talking clues say, "Now that we're three, what will we be?", speaking instead of singing because it's a musical day.
